I had trouble with this assignment just on posting it to my blog and figuring out where to find the URL. I hope I have it figured out. So this would be rhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifeally helpful if wanted to give directions for an online assignment and you were not able to give your students direct instruction. I am thinking work stations when I use Jing.

Photo Story
I love photo story. I think incorporating this type of technology into the chttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.giflassroom is a great idea. I know that I enjoy watching others lessons this way and I am sure that students enjoy watching a video over their teacher lecturing.

You Tube Video
Applian FLV player is one of the applications I tried to use to expropriate a you tube video. This particular player did not work. I am not sure if it was my computer or just that it doesn't work. I did not try another type of application. My computer froze up during the downloading process of this player.I think this may be something I will have to look into more in the future. I believe that my computer needs cleaned up before it can handle downloading additional files. I do think that I would like to find a program that would work to download videos and be able to publish them back on the computer.
Shorten URLs
I can give you a real good reason why URLs should be shortened...... they're too long!!!! No one can remember URLs if they are too long. Furthermore, if a URL is long it is likely people will not remember where they found a great site.
Jeopardy
The jeopardy assignment was great. I have wondered for years how all the other teachers I knew were able to create the games so easily. Now I know!

Voice Thread
I think that voice thread would be a great way to get student's feedback on a concept or skill that could be created by the teacher. I think that this type of application can be applied to all of the ISTE NETS for teachers.
1. Facilitate and inspire student creativity.
This would definitely facilitate student creativity. The student is able to upload photos and draw on the picture. Also the student can develop and express their own ideas.
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and
Voice thread would be a great way to check for student's understanding of a concept.
3.Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
As teachers we are learning that papers and pencils are becoming nonexistent. Computers files have replaced the paper and now Voice thread can be another way for student's to express their ideas about particular subjects and skills.
4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
This type of artifact would help teach students about citizenship and responsibility to fellow students. Students would be learning about the types of appropriate comments and how to work together effectively.
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
As students see teachers growing within our profession and being excited about teaching them new skills that they have learned, I feel that spirit can be contagious and students will model the growth in they see in teachers. I often find that when I learn something new on the computer and I teach my students or discuss it with my students they are interested to try it for themselves or teach me more about how it works. Especially considering there are times when the students know more about some computer applications than what I know.

Podcasting
Podcasts are used to address these standards apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes, create original works as a means of personal, software download and installation, problem solving, communication, grhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifoup interactihttp://www.blogger.chttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifom/img/blank.gifon. I think that podcasts are really neat to be able to share with classes, especially if you have auditory learners. It is another way to deliver instruction that would work really well if you have students who are working at their own pace on some assignments or I think you could use this in class if you were trying to differentiate a lesson. You could record the podcast in audacity, upload and publish the podcast to podbean, and let students listen by accessing classroom computers and the internet. The grade level for my lesson is sixth grade, CSO RLA.O.6.1.11.
